We have a current opening for a Laboratory Application Support Specialist to support a large government contract in Winchester, MA.
 
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Provide day to day support for a STARLIMS implementation, its integration with site instrumentation, instrument applications and the instruments.
  • Assist with site configuration and implementation of STARLIMS.
  • Analyze user needs to determine functional requirements
  • Facilitate meetings, system configuration and development evaluations and site acceptance testing.
  • Work with program and centralized team to evaluate site needs versus STARLIMS system capabilities and determine best approach within the system for configuration for enhancement requests or issue resolution.
  • Work with program and centralized team to troubleshoot instrumentation issues and maintain instrument controllers.
  • Identify required tasks and their interrelationships
  • Identify resources required for each task
  • Configure the STARLIMS application in all aspects including Electronic Laboratory Notebook use
  • Provides instrument specific knowledge regarding instruments, instrument controllers, and their integration with a LIMS. Performs installation, configuration and integration of instruments and instrument controllers.
  • Provides coordination with equipment manufacturers to install, maintain, and troubleshoot instruments and instrument controllers. Also provides support for the operation of a LIMS.
     
Requirements:

** Must have experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) **
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Laboratory experience with Microbiology and/or Chemistry preferred.
  • Life science business process experience
  • Requisite knowledge and expertise so recognized in the professional community that the Government is able to qualify the individual as an expert in the field for an actual TO
  • Demonstrated exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with LIMS (STARLIMS preferred)
  • Experience with Quality and Analytical Testing processes.
  • Experience analyzing current business processes and recommending improved processes based on industry standards and work experience.
  • Ability to work as part of a remote team or with geographically dispersed team
