Dovel currently has an opening for an Oracle DBA/Developer to support our prime government contract in Washington, DC!

The Oracle DBA/Developer is primarily responsible for development and installation of all Oracle-related database and data structures, components, and services for a mission critical Oracle Fusion Middleware-based application. The Development DBA will also apply any corrective actions deemed necessary by Security, Test validation, and other CMQA processes.  The Development DBA works closely with the Program Director, Chief Architect, the Lead Business Analyst, and the Development Lead to ensure the requirements are implemented appropriately.


Required:
  • 7+ years of experience in Oracle DB development and administration
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/ Management Information Systems or related field preferred
  • Expert knowledge for stored procedures and triggers
  • Strong  knowledge of GoldenGate
  • Strong understanding of Oracle Security and Audit
  • Strong proficiency in reviewing and applying changes to database structures including, but not limited to adding/modifying tables, views, indexes, functions, procedures, synonyms as appropriate when required to support a business process or need
  • Demonstrated knowledge to create, execute, and maintain scripts, jobs or procedures using database tools and utilities
  • Demonstrated experience in database performance tuning
  • Demonstrated knowledge to troubleshoot and manage problems independently.
  • Demonstrated knowledge to work collaboratively with all levels of IT and business personnel
  • Demonstrated knowledge to work independently and exercise sound judgment in decision making
  • Demonstrated knowledge to work in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong aptitude to work with development staff to identify performance bottlenecks and recommend changes required to improve database performance
  • Demonstrated knowledge to create and maintain database user accounts, roles and permissions, perform full database and schema refreshes
  • Demonstrated knowledge to develop and maintain database object level replication
  • Experience with version control tools, such as Serena, SVN, Rational Rose etc. 

    Strongly desired:
  • Unix/Shell scripting
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion Middleware implementations
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms
