We currently have an opening for a Cognos Reporting Author to join our team in Rockville, Maryland!
The Reporting Author will be accountable for the scheduled and ad-hoc reporting requests, development of technical documentation, and to provide support to our partners reporting user-base. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Gather reporting requirements with federal partner or internal team members
Author reports in IBM Cognos 10.x as needed
Create and Maintain New and existing Model using Frame Work Manager
Should be able to work on developing Oracle SQL, Views and Store Procedures.
Develop a deep understanding of the of internal data and transaction systems for reporting purposes
Attend stand-up and team meetings to represent reporting interests
Work closely with internal and external resources on the identification and creation of new reporting feature development
Understand systems testing and to act as a testing resource for newly added features and functionality. Train partner end users based on training curriculum for ad-hoc reporting capabilities
Provide support to Tier 1, 2, and 3 Helpdesk staff and Partner Services staff as needed
Maintain and update the catalog of reporting and any other assigned documentation as needed
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 1 year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Experience authoring reports in IBM Cognos BI tools
Knowledge of Tableau
Proficient in technical writing and documentation including ERD diagrams, release notes, & other technical artifacts
Understanding of data schemas and an ability to translate business needs into report requirements
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Confidence working with and interfacing with clients across different parts of the business
Willingness to embrace technology and tools used to deliver high levels of service
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
Possess strong conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skills
Extremely comfortable in a fast-paced environment that requires excellent time-management, ability to multi-task, and prioritize effectively
Candidates must have lived in the United States for at least 3 out of the last 5 years to meet the clearance requirements
Experience of the Federal Grants Business Process and of key Federal Enterprise Grants Management
